Meet Your Neighbor
Growing up in a small town in north-central Maine, Courtney developed a love of nature from a young age. She spent her childhood climbing trees, splashing in puddles, building snow forts, and exploring her family's wooded property. In college, Courtney pursued her interests in psychology and special education, while also working as a trip coordinator for the Outdoor Education Program and becoming a whitewater raft guide on the Kennebec River. These experiences instilled in her an appreciation of the power of educating and supporting people in the great outdoors. Courtney's love of nature never faded, and she is excited to incorporate nature as a co-facilitator in the therapy experience, helping children discover the therapeutic benefits of connecting with nature.
Courtney is deeply committed to partnering with families to help children reach their full potential and considers it a privilege to work with families and children in Alaska. Outside of Moving Mountains OT, she loves spending time in the great outdoors, whether it's skiing, hiking, or whitewater rafting. She also enjoys traveling, hosting board game nights with friends, and spending quality time with her loved ones, including her husband Matt, dog Kennebec, and cat Monkey.
